"From the time she became a mom at 19, my mom has always been a caring, wonderful mother. It hasn't always been easy being young, and struggling to make ends meet when my parents were first married, but they made it work and we all felt loved and cared for. Her immense strength and love was magnified for all to see the past eight years. That is when my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. She has been there for him for all of the 20+ surgeries and complications. She has worked full time to ensure they have a roof over their head. She has helped with the care-taking and passing of her elderly parents. With all of this craziness she made sure she was/is there to love and support her three children. Seeing the last of us to graduate from CSB/SJU and then get married. To be there the day each of her six grandchildren were born. To make treats and dinners for each of us for our birthdays. I'm not sure how she manages to take care of everyone not only for the special occasions but the daily or weekly phone calls to check in and see how we are doing. I can only imagine how wonderful the world would be if we all cared for one another, as much as my mom does for her family!"
