"Ever since the day I was born, my mother has been my best friend and closest confidant. She has seen me at both my worst and my best, and continues to love me through it all. She has encouraged me, learned with me and taught me what unconditional love looks like. I try to emulate her love within every relationship I have with others. She is my rock, my hero, my Wonder Woman. She supports my dreams (even when I wanted to be a rock star or an archaeologist in Egypt) and has taught me how to be an independent and strong woman. I can say without a doubt in my heart that I would be nowhere near where I am today without her love, friendship, and strength being a constant presence in my life. Throughout all of life's trials she has been there, as steady as the sun, and I am sure that my dad and sister can say the same. I look up to her in every way and just want her to know how much I appreciate everything she has ever done for me. From all of the soccer, hockey and track practices, the time spent at away tournaments, being my team manager, baking for my teams and coming to every single one of my soccer and hockey games throughout not only my college career, but ever since I was 5 years old. She has been my coach, my mentor and my best friend for 21 years, and I cannot wait to celebrate the next 21 with her by my side. Love you mom!"
