Mission Impact FY24

Set to succeed

January 10, 2025 • 2 min read

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Elite 22 award is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA in each sport who meets similarly high sport-specific athletic requirements. This year there were three Bennies among the Elite 22: Fiona Smith ’24 of cross country, Olivia Thompson ’24 of volleyball and Ashley Tarrolly ’24 of tennis.

In 2023-24, Ashley was a major contributor on the CSB tennis team, which finished the regular season at 7-10 and 5-5 in the MIAC. CSB made its third straight appearance in the MIAC Postseason Tournament.

Ashley was also among seven Bennies named ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Scholar-Athletes in 2023 as CSB earned ITA Academic Team honors for the first time since 2015. She was ranked regionally in singles and seeded #2 in the fall ITA tournament. By year’s end, she earned All-MIAC singles honors for a second straight year and earned her first doubles honor. Additionally, she was named to the All-MIAC Playoff Team for the first time.

Off the court, Ashley excelled in her economics major (graduating with honors) and founded an on-campus entrepreneurship club. All of this positioned her well for the future and set her up to step smoothly into her new position as an investment banking analyst with Piper Sandler.

Watch Ashley tell the world about her Saint Ben’s experience on Amazon Prime’s The College Tour.
