Open for Interpretation

Chloe BriggsBennie alumna Chloe Briggs ’11 brought her current exhibit “Close” to the Benedict and Dorothy Gorecki Gallery in the Benedicta Arts Center this summer and fall. As Chloe describes it, it’s an exhibition “where the viewer is able to put their own interpretation on (the art).”

“‘Close’ is an exhibition with a deliberatively ambiguous title placing female figures in deliberately ambiguous space,” she says in her artist statement. “The viewer is asked to confront the in-between.”

Chloe is just one of an impressive lineup of artists and performers to share their gifts in the galleries and performance spaces of CSB/SJU in the last year. And much of that is made possible through generous financial gifts from passionate supporters.
