Vaccination records are confidential medical data and will only be accessible by Health Services. In addition, it is important to note that we should not make any assumptions about who is vaccinated or not vaccinated based on masking status. Remember that people vaccinated may choose to mask if they are at higher health risk.

Based on public health guidance, and given the infectiousness of COVID-19, the seriousness of the illness, and the consequences of COVID-19 on campus for our ability to engage fully in-person, we believe it is in the best interests of the health and safety of our entire community if the vast majority of us are vaccinated and boosted.

State law in Minnesota already requires that all public university students must be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, measles, mumps, and rubella. Unless a student qualifies for a medical or religious exemption as prescribed by law, public universities are prohibited from enrolling students who have not been vaccinated for these diseases, and many campuses and universities around the state may require more than just these six.

The Minnesota Department of Health does not provide replacement cards. You can request a copy of your vaccination record at Find My Immunization Record if you are a resident of Minnesota.

- If tested at home or off campus location, submit positive result here:
- Students will be allowed to isolate in place. Once you submit your positive test result, you will be sent instructions for self-isolation to your email.

Health Services on both campuses will have COVID testing appointments available daily. Health Services will offer rapid test (results in less than 20 minutes) and PCR send out tests (results in 24 to 72 hours). To schedule an appointment for a COVID test, call 320-363-5605. Health Services will test anyone who is symptomatic, exposed or needs testing for travel, work, surveillance, etc.

- Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 should report their positive test result here: https://csbsju.edu/covid-19/test-result
- A student who is exposed, fully-vaccinated, and is not experiencing any COVID symptoms will not be required to quarantine. If they are experiencing symptoms, they need contact Student Health Services (320-363-5370).
- A student who is exposed and not fully vaccinated will be required to quarantine for 5 days and will need to continue to monitor for symptoms until day 10. Students will be asked to quarantine in place.

If you are needing to quarantine, please reach out to the Covid Coordinator ([email protected]) to determine your quarantine plans. We have spaces available at CSB and SJU for quarantine. If we are able to accommodate the quarantine in the students room, we will do so, but that will not always be feasible.

Masks are encouraged, but not required, in all areas of campus.
Masks are still required:
- In counseling and health services facilities due to health care regulations.
The CDC is recommending that surgical or medical masks such as N95, KN95 and KF94 provide much greater protection against the spread of COVID-19 than cloth masks. Masks should fit snugly against your face and always cover the mouth and nose.

You quarantine when you might have been exposed to the virus or have been identified as close contact.
You isolate when you have been infected with the COVID-19, even if you don’t have symptoms.

Students will isolate in place.
If symptomatic, you must isolate until all the following criteria are met:
- It has been at least 5 days from onset of symptoms.
- No fever for 24 hours off of fever reducing medications (ibuprofen and acetaminophen).
- COVID-19 symptoms are improving (with the exception of loss of taste and smell, which can persist for months after infection).
If you had no symptoms, you may discontinue isolation when it has been 5 days from test date.

EMPLOYEES FULLY VACCINATED
Employees fully vaccinated who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should consult with their medical provider to determine if testing is advised. The symptoms may be other conditions such as a cold or flu. If COVID-19 testing is not advised:
- Stay home until fever free for 24 hours off medications and symptoms improve.
- Notify your supervisor.
EMPLOYEES NOT FULLY VACCINATED OR UNVACCINATED EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS
If experiencing symptoms prior to reporting to work:
- Stay home and notify your supervisor of the type and onset of symptoms.
- Contact your medical provider for guidance and follow-up with your supervisor regarding workability status. An employee without a medical provider is encouraged to seek guidance through phone triage with a registered nurse. A local resource is CentraCare Connect at 320-200-3200.
If experiencing symptoms while at work:
- Notify your supervisor of the type and onset of symptoms.
- Go home as soon as possible, wear a mask/face covering, and self-isolate from others until leaving campus.
- Contact your medical provider for guidance and follow-up with your supervisor regarding workability status. An employee without a medical provider is encouraged to seek guidance through phone triage with a registered nurse. A local resource is CentraCare Connect at 320-200-3200.
Applicable leave for absence from work based upon appointment and benefit-eligibility status:
- If an employee is unable to fully perform his/her job responsibilities from home, leave options include accrued sick leave, vacation (if sick leave is not available), or unpaid leave.

EMPLOYEES FULLY VACCINATED AND NOT EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS

CSB and SJU Faculty and Staff handbook policies on sick leave and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) will be followed for an employee’s illness, for an employee providing care for an ill family member as defined by these policies, and when an employee is required by a health-care provider to isolate or quarantine.
An employee advised by his/her medical provider not to work on campus due to a documented health condition may request an accommodation by providing medical certification of the recommended restrictions and timeline to Human Resources. A Human Resources representative will review the recommendations, discuss needs with the employee and his/her supervisor, and determine if a reasonable accommodation can be made. If an employee is unable to perform position responsibilities with a reasonable accommodation, the employee’s position, FTE, and/or employment status may be affected.
With the reopening of K12 schools and daycare centers, home schooling and childcare will not be granted as a COVID-19 accommodation.

Yes, time spent getting vaccinated during your normal work hours will be paid. Please work with your supervisor to ensure shift coverage beforehand. The expectation is 2 hours will be enough time per dose, but please be in communication with your supervisor if there are significant wait times, etc.

- 5 days since symptoms first appeared and
- At least 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever reducing medication and
- Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving
(Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months and need not delay the end of isolation.) - If you had no symptoms, you may discontinue isolation when it has been 5 days from test date
- Notify his/her supervisor and complete the following report form Employee COVID-19 Positive Test Report submitted to Human Resources.
Applicable leave for a positive COVID-19 case based upon appointment and benefit-eligibility status:
- If an employee is unable to fully perform his/her job responsibilities from home, leave options include accrued sick leave, vacation (if sick leave is not available), or unpaid leave.
