The Work Environment

We learned throughout the spring and summer that, as an institution, we can come together and adapt to the biggest challenges. The cooperation from our community has been a big factor in our success thus far, and we will maintain these high standards as we begin a new academic year.

Each member of our community must take personal responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19. CSB/SJU is relying on all employees to serve as leaders in upholding the policies and protocols related to mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

Health Practices

CSB/SJU employees are expected to adhere to several community health practices. While hand sanitizer will be available at the entrances and exits to most buildings, individuals are responsible for cleaning shared departmental equipment, such as phones, keyboards and copiers, before and after use. All members of the CSB/SJU community must maintain a physical distance of at least six feet whenever possible and wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth when in public spaces. The mask should be worn outdoors when it is not possible to maintain a six-foot distance from others. When in a private office space, individuals may remove their mask. However, the mask must be on hand to be worn if another person enters the private office.

Remote Working

To support social distancing, supervisors are encouraged to allow employees, especially those in high-risk categories, who can perform their work remotely to do so. Consider alternating remote days with days in the office.
