CSB/SJU Fine Arts Programming has made the difficult decision to suspend in-person performances from visiting guest artists in fall 2020. This decision considered the health and safety of traveling artists, the backstage crew, staff, students and the audience.
However, plans are in development to create the best artistic experiences possible – true to our communities and our mission – with the resources available this year.
Here is what you can look forward to this year:
- Opportunities for artist workshops virtually this fall on campus, in our community and available to all. Please note, there will not be a traditional brochure this year and opportunities will be announced as they are available.
- Visual Arts Galleries at CSB and SJU will continue as planned. There will be options to experience the exhibits in person, with health and safety measures in place, and in a virtual format.
- Possibly, some surprise streaming performances or even an in-person performance outdoors, if appropriate health and safety measures can be ensured.
- A continued commitment to world-class artist experiences, direct connections and a community invested vision in all we do. We remain true to our mission to awaken a spirit of curiosity, ignite dialog and illuminate new understanding through distinctive arts experiences on our stages, in our galleries and in our communities.
Fine Arts Programming remains hopeful of presenting a spring season later this fall and announcing the dates they have on hold with incredible artists. For more information, review the official announcement.
