November 4: CDC Travel Guidelines

Dear CSB/SJU Students, Faculty and Staff:

As we approach possible traveling by students and employees around Thanksgiving, Christmas and semester break, the Pandemic Planning Committee would like to remind you of the CDC travel guidelines and updated international travel requirements.

DOMESTIC TRAVEL

Fully Vaccinated:

  • Wear a mask on public transportation (bus, train, planes)
  • After travel, self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms

Not Fully Vaccinated:

  • Get tested 1-3 days before travel
  • Wear a mask on public transportation (bus, train, planes)
  • Get tested 3-5 days after travel and self-quarantine for 7 days. Self-quarantine for 10 days if you don't get tested.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL (Starting Nov. 8)

Returning to United States (Citizen):

  • Fully Vaccinated: Proof of vaccination AND negative COVID-19 test no more than 3 days prior to travel back to the U.S. After arrival in the U.S., will need to get tested 3-5 days post-arrival, but do NOT need to quarantine.
  • Not Fully Vaccinated: Must get COVID-19 test NO MORE than 1 day before flight departure from a foreign country back to the U.S. and show a negative result. After arrival in the U.S., will need to get tested 3-5 days post-arrival AND quarantine for 7 days. Self-quarantine for 10 days if you don't get tested.

Returning to United States (Non-citizen/Non-immigrant):

  • Fully Vaccinated: Proof of vaccination AND negative COVID-19 test no more than 3 days prior to travel back to the U.S. After arrival in the U.S., will need to get tested 3-5 days post-arrival, but do NOT need to quarantine.
  • Not Fully Vaccinated: Will NOT BE ALLOWED to board a flight to the U.S. (exceptions listed on CDC website). If an individual is not fully vaccinated and qualifies for an exception, they will need to get tested 3-5 days post-arrival AND quarantine for 7 days.
