May 6: Message to Faculty and Staff
Dear Faculty and Staff,
We hope this email finds you doing well during this challenging time. Please know that though we are separated physically, you remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
As you know, last week, the Governor of Minnesota extended the Stay at Home Order to May 18. We continue to reassess when we can safely bring employees back to campus and the safety protocols we need in place. Announcements from the governor and the Minnesota Department of Health in the coming weeks will provide guidance as we plan for summer and beyond. Our goal is to open for fall semester with students on campus, while providing for the safety of our students, faculty and staff.
For now, we plan to allow employees who can effectively work from home to continue to do so into June. Employees with modified schedules will continue with these schedules into June or until notified by their supervisors. Any additional schedule modifications will be determined by supervisors. Staff can expect to hear from their supervisor soon.
We are grateful for your flexibility over the past two months and especially for your commitment to the successful conclusion of this academic year. As we have reflected on this time and what we can learn from it as leaders, the value, promise and importance of hope continue to be uppermost in our minds. Recently, the St. Cloud Times ran a version of an article President Hinton wrote about hope, and we want to share the original version with you, as you are the people who give us hope each and every day.
With sincere gratitude for your ongoing service to and care for our community,
Mary Dana Hinton Eugene McAllister
