Strategic Communication Studies

What extra-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? How has that involvement helped you succeed?

Previously I have been a member and captain of the dance team, and I am currently a peer mentor for FYX. These activities help/ed me to manage my time wisely and practice communication skills on a daily basis.

What advice would you give to students thinking of majoring/minoring in communication? What value do you see in being a communication major at CSB/SJU?

I came into college not knowing what major to focus on, but I realized soon after that there are so many benefits to being a communication major. I believe that the communication major courses and professors have taught me lots of essential skills to better prepare me for life after graduation. The flexibility of the communication major requirements allows students to enroll in the classes that they feel better fit their career path and provide students with lots of practice analyzing real-world situations. Also, the communication major allows students to learn from a variety of distinguished professors who are easy to get to know and ask for guidance from. They are also extremely passionate in what they teach and encourage students to think deeper about complex subjects.
