What extra-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? How has that involvement helped you succeed?

I am currently involved in the CSB/SJU Walking Club as a marketing director, as well as Intramural Soccer and the Communication Club

Overall, my involvement in these activities has helped me to connect with so many amazing CSB and SJU students that share similar interests as me. As a marketing director for the walking club, I have had the opportunity to design and create ads while working closely with the board and members to deliver messages in a creative and effective way. I would highly recommend getting involved in an intramural sport because it has allowed me to take a break from school and enjoy exercising in a very fun way with friends. Lastly, the communication club has helped me to succeed by creating opportunities to experience the world of communications as it relates to career goals through events, information sessions and further activities.

What advice would you give to students thinking of majoring/minoring in communication? What value do you see in being a communication major at CSB/SJU?

Never shy away from your goals and beliefs, no matter what anyone has to say. Coming into college, I had no idea what I wanted to major in or where I saw myself in the future. Through the help of the amazing comm professors at CSB/SJU, I quickly realized that what I truly loved to do was read, write and think critically. I see these skills being strengthened in the plethora of fun and unique classes the communication major has to offer.
