Commencement Ceremony

The commencement ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 in the Haehn Campus Center Clemens Field House.

Academic Attire

Traditional academic attire will be worn at commencement (cap, gown and hood). Academic attire will be issued to all degree candidates at the Grad Finale on Thursday, March 23. Honor cords will be distributed at commencement rehearsal on Friday, May 12.

Grad Finale
Thursday, March 23, Mary Commons – 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Commencement Ceremony Tickets

Admission to the ceremony in the Clemens Field House is by electronic ticket only. Each graduate is entitled to four general admission guest tickets. The number of tickets allocated is based on the number of graduates and the seating capacity of the Clemens Field House. We will not have extra tickets for distribution. The ceremony can also be viewed in Escher Auditorium in the Benedicta Arts Center (no ticket required). Secure your tickets HERE.

Ceremony Ticket Reservations

Each graduate may invite up to four guests to attend the ceremony in the Clemens Field House. It will be required that all guests be preregistered for tickets to the ceremony. Tickets will be nontransferable and additional tickets will not be available. Graduates will receive an email regarding how to reserve tickets from [email protected] by mid-April. In this email, the graduate will receive an individualized code that must be used to reserve their four guest tickets for general admission. The graduate will receive their guests’ tickets via email within 24 hours of reserving their tickets. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for commencement seating in the field house. (Handicap seating will be available)

Commencement Brunch

Each graduate will receive five complimentary meal tickets (four guests and one for yourself). The meal will be served in the Gorecki Center between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Meal ticket pickup times:
  • Wednesday and Thursday, May 10-11
    4 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the Gorecki Fireside Lobby
  • Friday, May 12
    3:45 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Intramural Desk located in the lower HCC (right outside the Field House)
    Students should bring their student ID and know their desired seating time(s).
Available seating times:

11, 11:30, noon and 12:30 p.m.

Additional tickets will also be available for purchase on Saturday, May 7, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Gorecki Fireside Lobby.
Cost of these tickets:

  • Adults - $14
  • Child (5-10) - $8.50
  • 4 years and under - free
Rehearsal
Commencement rehearsal will take place Friday, May 12, at 3:30 p.m. Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduates.

Please line up on the lawn between the Haehn Campus Center and the Benedicta Arts Center. Line-up information will be posted with numerical and alphabetical markings on the sidewalk. In the event of rain, line up will be in Claire Lynch. If you cannot attend rehearsal or the commencement ceremony, please contact Denise Laudenbach in the Registrar’s Office at [email protected].

Diploma

On receipt of evidence that all studies undertaken this term have been successfully completed, and that all requirements for the appropriate degree have been successfully met, a diploma will be issued to you. Your diploma will indicate your degree and the date on which it was conferred. An official transcript of academic record attesting to the degree(s) and honors you have received will be mailed to you, along with your diploma, in early July.

Commencement Live Broadcast

To view the live broadcast, a link will be added on this website for the 2023 CSB Commencement. There will be a signal available to check your connection 15 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Archived Video

The commencement ceremony will be recorded. A free YouTube link of the ceremony will be posted to the commencement website one week after commencement.

Baccalaureate Mass

We invite you and your guests to attend the Baccalaureate Mass as an important part of your special day. It is a time to give thanks for your wonderful years at the College of Saint Benedict and for all of us to pray for each of you and bless you in your next ventures.

The Baccalaureate Mass will take place at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Chapel.
