First Years:

What do we do?

We provide a formal opportunity for first-year students to connect with sophomore, junior, and senior student leaders. These mentors will meet with students at least once every two weeks for the duration of the academic year. This relationship will be a rather informal. Don't expect to be counciled, lectured, or judged. Do expect to find a friend who cares personally about you.

Why mentoring?

The student members of this program recognize an unmet need of the campus community: first-year students are often disconnected from the resources they need to succeed and lack extensive relationship networks on campus. We help first-year students find their own"place to belong" on campus while offering older student the chance to make a difference in our community.
