“The department has a wide variety of classes that pertain to many fields of research in biology. The faculty are dedicated to helping students. There are many opportunities for scholarships and grants to help students study abroad. Studying abroad really changed my life. It allowed me to create connections with academics and gain insider knowledge on what graduate schools are looking for, helping me prepare for my Ph.D. I was also able to perform my own experiments and projects that taught me how to be disciplined and gave me qualifying experience for field and lab work opportunities after I graduated.”
