Asian Studies Individualized Major Jon Keillor Presents at National Conference on Undergraduate Research

Jon Keillor (SJU 08) gave a presentation titled, “Rethinking Violent Extremism” at the 22nd annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. Jon’s project focused on reinterpreting violent religious extremism using a deep-rooted cultural analysis to help us better understand these movements. Jon’s research specifically focused on the Hakka cultural influence on the Taiping Rebellion, a seminal movement in Chinese history. Jon was one of four presenters selected to give oral presentations under the category of “Asian Studies.”
