In creating images through desctruction, visiting artist Patricia Ramaer "rematerializes" the phgotographic image, explores immateriality through materiality, and pioneers new forms of photographic imagery, sculpture, installation, and film.
Patricia will present her work, her journey as an artist, and the processes of her art practice February 9, 7:00 pm in the Pellegrene Auditorium. She will discuss her latest work, inspired during her master's program, that combines art and philosophy. This public lecture is part of Patricia's artist-in-residence program at CSB/SJU for the month of February 2017.
Patricia was born in Vancouver, Canada, has lived in England and the Netherlands, and currently resides in Scotland. She holds a bachelor of design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, has studied at the Photography Academy in Amsterdam, and recently finished her MFA in art and humanities at Dundee University in Scotland.
