From Matt '04 and Amanda Bruns: Baby Isabelle Rose was born on Sat., Apr 12, 2008. Congratulations!ER doctor James Pfaff '78 (Colonel) sent a card in mid-April from Iraq where he volunteered his services. By now he should be back home in San Antonio, TX.
Nate Freier '88 reports [email protected] and I quote a press release: "Nathan Freier joined CSIS in Apr. 2008 as a senior fellow in the International Security Program after completing a 20-year career in the U.S. Army. His last military assignment was as director of national security affairs at the U.S. Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute (SSI)." For more information see: (http://www.csis.org/component/option,com_csis_experts/task,view/type,34/id,521/ he says further: "I will serve in DC through the summer and ultimately get loaned back to the Army War College as a visiting professor for one year renewable to two while still maintaining my CSIS Senior Fellow affiliation. It's good for the family (no move) but still allows me to remain an active DC wonk."
A report from Scot A. Doboszenski '93: "Melissa, Savana (turned 2 in Apr), and I arrived in Fort Leavenworth, KS in Jan. And will be here through the year, while I attend the Command & General Staff College. Fellow alumnus Mike Pavek '96 is in the class ahead of me and will be leaving this summer. My brother Brad '95, wife Christy CSB '96, son Ben (4) and daughter Grace (2) are moving to FL - MacDill Air Force Base." Tom Burke '94 brings us up to date: "I married the former Frances Tilney on the grounds of her alma mater in Cambridge, MA this past Sep. 1st. We're expecting our first baby (a girl) in Jul. and couldn't be happier. Since I last wrote to you, I served as the military intern to Secretary Rumsfeld from 2004-2005, and as the Executive Officer to then-LTG Petraeus from 2005-2006 in Baghdad, Iraq. Following Command and General Staff College from 2006-2007, I completed the Apache Longbow Course and was further assigned as the Operations Officer for 3-101st Aviation Regiment at Ft. Campbell, KY. I've been in the job for almost 8 months now and am preparing for an Afghanistan deployment." [email protected]
