Mention the word community at CSB/SJU and you will discover a common understanding of an uncommon value. Campus visitors sense it right away. Prospective students recognize it as friendliness, but community here is more than your average chit-chat, "hi, how are you?" It is a rich and enduring experience shared among students, faculty, staff and the Benedictines who live here. In this supportive environment, students find mentors among faculty and form lifelong ties with classmates.
CSB and SJU undergraduates hail from 35 countries and 39 states. The typical new student at CSB/SJU placed among the top 15 percent of all ACT test-takers nationally.
CSB and SJU are located six miles apart in central Minnesota, surrounded by 3,300 acres of pristine forests, prairies and lakes. The colleges are minutes away from the St. Cloud metropolitan area, with a population of more than 100,000, while Minneapolis and St. Paul are 70 miles southeast on Interstate 94.
Our Catholic character is shaped by the Benedictine communities which founded the colleges in the 19th century and continue to foster Benedictine Catholic values in the academic, spiritual and social life of the colleges.
