Ann Erickson

Visiting Assistant Professor

Ann is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Lease Finance Professional, and a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in continuous improvement.

Ann is a graduate of St. Cloud State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Computer Information Systems and is an Excellence in Leadership Award recipient.  Ann also has a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Cloud State University and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.

Ann began her public accounting career in the Minneapolis area having worked with Deloitte, RSM McGladrey, Virchow Krause (formerly LKCA, now Baker Tilly) and most recently as Principal with the Financial Accounting Services team at Froehling Anderson Ltd., with offices in St. Cloud and Minneapolis.

Ann’s career included 6 years in banking where she served as Senior Director of Strategic Deployments for banking and equipment financing until transitioning to the audit and compliance team serving in roles of Senior Director and Chief Compliance & Audit Officer where she led the compliance, audit, and fraud teams.  Ann is a graduate of the Minnesota Bankers Association Leadership Development Academy (Class 5).

Ann also dedicated 13 years to corporate accounting with Wolters Kluwer serving in various roles including Director of Finance, Director of Risk Management & Internal Control for the Financial Services Division as well as Senior Director of Risk and Internal Controls of the GRC Division.

Ann was co-owner and CFO of a family owned, small painting business serving the commercial and residential markets around the greater central Minnesota area for 10 years.

Ann serves on the Executive Board of the Central Minnesota Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and is a merit badge counselor and Woodbadge leadership training graduate/staff member.  Ann also serves on the finance committee for REACH-UP Head Start, and serves the finance committee at her church.

Ann enjoys being a volunteer trainer for Best Prep with their Minnesota Business Ventures program as well as coaching accounting for the Association of Lease Finance Professionals CLFP exam prep course.  Outside of accounting, Ann enjoys activities with family, horses/horse showing, dog adventures, and travel.

Ann’s current teaching focus is on the principles and intermediate accounting courses.
