Susan Palmer is the Vice President for Finance and Administration at the College of Saint Benedict. She has served the college for over twenty-nine years as a member of the President’s Cabinet and the Strategic Directions Council. She oversees long-range financial planning, human resources, accounting, student accounts, information technology, facilities, security, investments, student accounts and auxiliary services, including culinary services and the bookstore.
Palmer received her MBA from St. Cloud State University and her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Moorhead State University, graduating magna cum laude.
She currently serves as a board member on the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO) and is chair of the CACUBO Small Institutions Constituency Council. She has served twice on the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Small Institutions Council and presented at past NACUBO annual meetings and workshops. In addition, she has served as a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
As a committed community member, she currently serves as a board member and treasurer for the Grand Lake Area Association and a board member and finance committee member for the Stearns History Museum. She previously served as a member and president of Sertoma, as a board member for United Way of Central Minnesota, as a city council member for Rockville for two terms, and as a board member and past president for District 742 Local Education Activities Foundation (LEAF).
