U.S. News Ranks CSB/SJU Among the Nation’s Top Three Catholic Liberal Arts Colleges

The College of Saint Benedict moved up 13 spots to 88th, while Saint John’s University advanced eight spots to 69th in U.S. News & World Report magazine's annual rankings of the best national liberal arts colleges.  The national liberal arts category includes the nation's most prestigious and selective liberal arts colleges.

America's Best Colleges 2006 CSB and SJU continue to be ranked as two of the top three Catholic liberal arts colleges in the nation and with a combined enrollment of 3,856, CSB and SJU have the largest enrollment of any college in the national liberal arts category.

CSB and SJU were noted in the top 100 nationally among all categories of colleges and universities for highest 4-year graduation rates and most students living in university housing.  CSB and SJU were also mentioned for its study abroad program as an outstanding example of academic programs that are believed to lead to student success.

The rankings take into account the academic reputation of the school, admissions selectivity, retention and graduation rates, class size, financial resources and alumni giving, among other factors.
