Theng Yeng Xiong '18

For Theng Yeng Xiong ’18, the Center for Ethical Leadership in Action (CELA) means the chance to gain both leadership skills and transferable career skills from speakers, the Career Expo, leadership training and more. It will also give her the opportunity to put those skills into action in her internship in the Center for Health Equity at the Minnesota Department of Health. For all this, she’s grateful.

“I would like to say ua tsuag – thank you – to our donors for creating CELA at Saint Ben’s,” says Theng Yeng.

“Without their generous contributions, I wouldn’t have the chance to propose and create my own internship and move toward my personal mission and career goals.”

This summer, she’ll be working on health-equity projects like the Eliminating Health Disparities Initiative. She’ll also get the chance to work in community outreach roles targeting specific health issues in specific communities.
