New CSB Board of Trustees members named

The College of Saint Benedict recently named Patricia Bartholomew, Katie Boylan, S. Mary Reuter, OSB, and David Roberts to its Board of Trustees. CSB trustees serve three-year terms and are eligible to serve three consecutive terms.

In addition, CSB Alumnae Board President Megan Sand Carr and CSB student Maria Knudsen will serve as ex-officio members of the board.

All six began their terms July 1. The board consists of 33 members and five ex-officio members.

Bartholomew is a 1979 graduate of CSB, and received a juris doctor from the Hamline University School of Law in 1982. She has served as a general counsel at Craig-Hallum Capital Group in Minneapolis since 1998. Prior to that, she was a general counsel at Offerman and Company. Bartholomew is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Her daughter, Leigh, is a 2005 graduate of CSB.

Boylan is a 1999 graduate of CSB with a degree in communication. Since 2011, she has served as director of public relations for Target Corporation. She has also served as a senior vice president at Edelman Public Relations (2006-11), a senior associate at Burson-Marsteller (2005-06), a publicity specialist at Marshall Field's (2003-05) and a senior account executive at Weber-Shandwick (1999-2003).

Reuter received a bachelor's degree from CSB, and a doctorate from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She served as an assistant and then associate professor of theology at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University from 1981-2014, serving as chair of the department from 1983-89. Reuter also served as prioress of St. Benedict's Monastery, St. Joseph, Minnesota, from 1989-95.

Roberts currently serves as vice president of the Americas, cardiac and vascular group of Medtronic, plc., in Mounds View, Minnesota. He has been with the company since 1986. Prior to that, he served as a sales representative and district manager for Todd Medical from 1984-86. His youngest daughter, Madeleine, currently attends CSB, and two other daughters, Elizabeth and Emily, graduated from CSB.

Carr is a 2006 graduate of CSB with a degree in political science, and received a juris doctor from the Hamline University School of Law. She is currently the senior business development manager at the Sand Companies, Inc., Waite Park, Minnesota, a position she has held for the past 2½ years. She previously worked as a senior real estate analyst for Target Corporation and Jones, Lang, LaSalle.

Knudsen is a rising junior communication major from St. Louis Park, Minnesota. She served as treasurer for the CSB Student Senate during the 2014-15 academic year. Knudsen was elected by CSB students to represent the student perspective on the Board of Trustees.
