A recent story in the Wall Street Journal newspaper and accompanying poll found Saint John’s University ranked No. 13 for best returns on investment (ROI) for liberal arts majors.

The March 2 story, headlined “Are Prestigious Private Colleges Worth the Cost?” showed SJU tied with Yale University and Colgate University with an annual ROI of 6.5 percent.

SJU’s 20-year net ROI was $429,500 and was based on projected earnings net the four-year cost of attendance.

The poll, conducted by PayScale.com, included liberal arts graduates of private and public universities. No other Minnesota college or university was on the 22-school list.
