Sister Lois Scramble

Nearly 100 years ago, Saint Ben's was founded by bold women who embraced challenges, relied on the strength of their spirit, and knew that together they could accomplish anything. Those women, and the courageous women who first took the playing field for Saint Ben's over 25 years ago, were truly trailblazers - and the namesake of Blazer Athletics. At Saint Ben's, Blazer Athletics has always provided an extraordinary opportunity to build confidence, character, and passion. Today, Saint Ben's continues to be a place where extraordinary things happen on and off the court.

Founded in 1898, Minikahda is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi. We are honored to have our alumnae and friends join us for a day to celebrate and support Blazer Athletics - and honor Sister Lois Wedl, the #1 Blazer fan, at such a prestigious course!

Ever since joining Saint Ben's faculty in 1986, Sister Lois Wedl has become a dedicated and well-known Blazer fan. She sends notes of encouragement to players, keeps score, and attends as many games as possible where she cheers as loud as she can. This is, of course, in addition to her regular work as assistant professor of education, director of the Elderhostel program, resident hall director, and member of the monastic community.

"I love being a part of the Blazer family," she admits. "It's so much fun to be with parents, siblings, coaches, trainers and friends on the sidelines."

While teams may change, records may be broken, and coaching strategies evolve, one thing has remained a constant for the Blazers . . . S. Lois is their biggest fan.
