Thanny Johnson

Hi! My name is Thanny. I am a junior nutrition and pre-physical therapy major at St. John’s University. I am from St. Anthony, Minnesota, a small first ring suburb that is sandwiched by Minneapolis and St. Paul on either side. This is my second year working as a writing tutor. When I’m not helping people with their writing, I’m in the St. John’s weight room pursuing another one of my passions, training. I have always loved strength sports, and I’ve dabbled in everything from bodybuilding to strongman.
Writing is, at least to me, one of the most important skills a person can have. Good writing allows humans to accurately record and more importantly, pass on their knowledge and experiences to others. For me, this is exactly what good writing does. Good writing articulates and shares the thoughts and the ideas of the writer. Good writing also conveys these ideas in an interesting and clear way. All people are destined to die, but good writing, so long as it is remembered and passed on, has the possibility to last for all eternity. That’s why I am passionate about my job here at the Writing Center; I get to help others master writing. I’m looking forward to working with you!
