I love writing-in-progress: an idea is most exciting while it is still being thought, before it is fleshed-out completely, before it has found its finished expression. I love being able to think with a writer: the world is never so large as when a writer opens up for me a whole new way of looking at something I thought was familiar. I love helping to refine the expression an idea: a well-thought idea can become a powerful piece of writing when the writer consciously chooses punctuation and sentence style to complement it.
I also love reading: mainly mysteries, twentieth century British women authors, female-detective fiction, and philosophical/psychological science fiction. My favorite leisure television viewing follows this last interest: Dr. Who, Torchwood, Fire Fly, Eureka. My other television viewing exposes my politics: BBC new and The Rachel Maddow Show.
I live with my spouse and whichever of our grown children has returned home. Jeff and I share interests in travel, gardening (tomatoes, Iris, and other flowers-especially those that return each year on their own) and houseplants (especially Orchids).
