Intercordia, an international movement to which CORAD would draw your attention, aims to offer young people from all backgrounds and walks of life, a training in peace studies which is practical, intellectual and humanitarian through:
*the discovery of other languages, other cultures, other religions, other roles in society and other realities, whether in the volunteer's own country or abroad
*the acceptance of the other as different but unique, through encounters with the week, the needy, and the suffering
*the identification of situations of conflict or of violence in self or in others and the discovery of processes of non-violent conflict resolution.
Intercordia is currently active in France and Canada.

CORAD provides opportunity for a weekly reflective meditation on faith and service. It provides the opportunity of reflecting with a faculty mentor response to reflections drawn from great traditions. CORAD is independent of, but inspired by, the international Intercordia movement founded by Jean Vanier, Gilles le Cardinal and a number of other leaders interested in educating students "to the practice of peace and in the development of practical humanitarian skills."
A faculty mentor will respond to each of the meditations you submit. You are also invited to preserve a copy of your responses for your own consideration. This program, and your own portfolio of responses, can, if you wish, lead to a recommendation from CORAD for any volunteer commitments you wish to make after your years here. Students making a volunteer commitment after their undergraduate experience, or who see their vocational work as service, are encouraged to continue to communicate with CORAD. And, perhaps, to frame meditations at the conclusion of their volunteer work for the benefit of future volunteers.
