Frequently Asked Questions

What are the vocation programs?

Both the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University have programs funded by grants from the Lilly Endowment that offer students abundant opportunities to explore the meaning of vocation and how it applies to everyday life. The vocation program at CSB, Companions on a Journey: Listening for the Voice of Vocation, and the one at SJU, CORAD, help students to discern and respond to God’s calling in their lives and to integrate the various ways—particular to each student—in which they may serve God and others.

While the vocation programs are for the entire CSB/SJU college community, they each have a special connection to the department of theology. For example, these programs are directed by theology professors, provide resources for theology courses, and sponsor some events—such as discussion sessions and retreats—specifically designed for theology majors and minors.
