Note: Make sure your system administrator has voice feature buttons actived on your extension. To add, change or delete any of your feature buttons, please contact Voice Communications at extension 3482.


Abbreviated Dialing:

Abbreviated Dialing buttons will save you time by automatically dialing numbers for you at the touch of a button.

You can certainly program your abbreviated dialing buttons yourself using a programming button assigned on your digital set, but it is recommended that you contact the system administrator to go over your programming needs.  Please call ext. 3482

Call Coverage

Provides automatic redirection of certain calls to your voice terminal for answering. Used to answer calls for other extensions for whom you provide coverage. Please contact Voice Communications to discuss this feature.

Call Forwarding All Calls:

Temporarily forwards all your calls to another extension or to an outside number, depending on your system. Use when you will be away from your phone and you want your calls to be forwarded to a phone number of your choice.

To activate: Press speaker, and then *2. Enter the phone number or extension that you would like your calls to forward to.

De-Activate: Press speaker, and then #2 to deactivate. This will cancel call forwarding.

Call Pickup:

Lets you answer a call at your telephone for another extension in your pickup group. Use when you wish to handle a call for a group member who is absent or otherwise unable to answer.  The feature access code for call pickup is #4.

Note: You can only use this feature if you and the called party have been assigned to the same pickup group by your System Administrator.

Conference:

Allows you to add parties to a call, so that you can conduct up to a 3 way conversation. (If you wish to have more than 6 parties, call Voice Communications for assistance) Use to set up time-saving conferences, or to spontaneously include a party important to a discussion.

Press Conference button, your call is put on hold, and you are given a new call appearance; all other parties remain connnected to each other.

Dial number of new party and wait for an answer. Note: You can privately discuss the call with the new party at this time; if no answer or busy, press fluttering button to return to held call.

Press Conference again and all parties are now connected.

Repeat these steps to add additional parties. If more than 6 connections, you must call Voice Communications at ext. 3482 for AT&T instructions.

Directory:

Directory display button is used to place the station's display in the integrated directory mode.  Contact the System Administrator at ext. 3482 to add this to your selected features.

Drop:

To disconnect from a normal call and obtain dial tone without hanging up the handset.

Hold:

To put a call on hold while you answer another call, make a call, or perform some other task.

Press Hold, the green light will flutter to indicate the caller is on hold.

Last Numbered Dialed:

To automatically redial the last number you dialed.

Press Last Number Dialed or the LND button programmed on your feature buttons.

Message Light:

This is notification that you have voice mail messages to retrieve. Please refer to your audix for message retrieval instructions.

Mute:

To prevent the other party from hearing you press Mute.

NOTE: when you are talking on the handset, the Mute feature affects the microphone associated with the handset rather that the speakerphone. This feature has no effect on an external speakerphone attached to the voice terminal.

Press Mute; the red light goes on and the other party cannot hear you.

When you are ready to resume conversation with the other party, press Mute again.

Program:

To use your dial pad to assign a phone number to a personal list item or an AD button for Abbreviated Dialing.

Reset Speakerphone:

You can adjust the speakerphone to the surrounding room acoustics to provide optimal performance. Use the Reset Speakerphone feature in the following ways:

Important: If there has been an interruption in power (such as, the system has just been powered up again, or you have plugged in the voice terminal at another location), the light next to Speaker will flutter until you reset the built-in speakerphone.

Ringer Off

Silences the alerting ringer.  This is a good option if you don't want to be bothered by the phone.

Select Button:

You can use any of the following features by, first, pressing the Select button.

Then press one of these buttons:

  1. Press Drop/Test to initiate a self-test of your voice terminal lights, ringer, and display. For procedures, see "Self-Test" in this section.
  2. Press Conference/Ring to select one of 8 personalized ringing patterns for your voice terminal. For procedures, refer to "Select Ring" in this section.
  3. Press Speaker/Reset Speaker to perform an acousitc test of the surrounding environment and adjust the speakerphone for optimal performance. For procedures, refer to "Reset Speakerphone" in this section.
  4. Press a 2-level feature button to access the top-labeled feature. Use the procedure below.

1. Press Select to access any of the top-labeled features on buttons with split labels

Green light goes on

2. Press the split-labeled button whose top feature you wish to use

Note: When you press the chosen feature button, the green light for Select automatically goes off; begin again at Step 1 to use another top-labeled feature.

Send All Calls:

To send all calls (except priority calls) immediately to coverage.

Press SAC button (Send All Calls) while on hook or dial the access code *3

Note: You will hear a half a ring when a call comes in and is forwarded into your voice mail box.

To cancel Send All Calls: Press SAC button again while on hook or dial the access code to cancel #3

Speakerphone:

To place a call without lifting the handset, or to use speaker with any listening only feature activity such as listening to voice mail messages or monitoring a call on which you have been put on hold or for group listening.

Press Speaker - the green light next to speaker goes on;

Place call or access selected feature

Adjust speaker volume if necessary

Transfer:

To send a present call to another extension or outside number.

  • Press Transfer - present call is put on hold
  • Dial number that call is to be transferred to
  • (Remain on line an announce call; if no answer or busy, return to held call by pressing its extension button.)
  • Press Transfer again. - Call is sent to dialed number
