Integrated Terminal Equipment (ITE)
USER'S GUIDE TO DIGITAL PHONE SETS FOR FACULTY & STAFF USE ONLY
INTRODUCTION:
This guide describes the features and explains the operation of the ITE. All of the defined features may not be available on your ITE due to your telephone set up and needs.
INFORMATION ABOUT ITE:
- Feature/Line Buttons: The features and lines are accessed by non—locking pushbuttons. All features (except those for which a button is not available) are activated by pressing a feature button.
- Ringing Volume Control: The ringing volume control is adjusted by turning the knob on the left side below the handset of the ITE.
- Confirmation: 2 beeps Input accepted by system
- Reorder: Fast Busy = Input rejected by system
- Busy: Busy signal = Dialed number is busy
RINGS: The system has different rings to identify the type of incoming call.
- One: Internal Call
- Two: External Call
- Three: System Priority (callback)
VISUAL SIGNALS/LAMPS:
- Steady: Feature active/line in use
- Flash: Incoming call
- Wink: Call on hold
- Flutter: Message waiting
Index
- External calls: Lift handset and wait for dial tone. Key in " 9 " and listen for dial tone. Key in desired number.
- Internal calls (including SJU and Convent): Lift handset and wait for dial tone. Key in four digit extension.
To Place A Call On Hold:
- Press HOLD button.
- Lamp will blink.
To Retrieve A Call On Hold:
- Press the Blinking Line button or lift your handset and the call will be retrieved.

- Press TRSF button and listen for dial tone.
- Key in extension or number.
- For unannounced transfer hang up the phone.
- For an announced transfer, announce the call and then hang up the phone.
Index
Allows up to seven parties to be joined in once call. It is recommended that no more than 4 parties be external.
To Add Additional Parties To An Existing Conversation:
- Press CONF button and listen for dial tone.
- Key in number. (Include "9" for outside line.)
- Announce conference.
- Press CONF button and all parties will be connected.
- Repeat above steps to add additional parties.
If The Number Called Is Busy Or Unanswered:
- Hang up the phone.
- Lift handset and press the CONF button.
- You will be connected with the original party or parties.
To Place A Conference Call On Hold:
- Press CONF button and listen for dial tone.
- Hang up the phone and the conference light will blink.
To Return To A Conference On Hold:
- Lift handset and listen for dial tone.
- Press CONF button and you will be connected with the conference.
Index
Allows calls to be forwarded to another number. Calls may be forwarded to another extension or to a local number.
To Call Forward:
- Select line.
- Lift handset.
- Press CALL FORWARD button and listed for the confirmation tone (2 beeps).
- Key in the number where calls are to be forwarded. (Include "9" if forwarding to a local number.)
- CALL FORWARD lamp will remain lit.
- Hang up the phone.
To Cancel Call Forwarding:
- Select Line.
- Lift handset.
- Press CALL FORWARD button and listen for confirmation tone.
Index
This feature establishes a personal directory of frequently called numbers. Assign each number a reference number (access number).
To Store/Change An Abbreviated Dial Number:
- Select line. Lift handset.
- Press ABBREV DIAL button.
- Press "*" and ABBREV DIAL lamp is steady.
- Key in reference number and listen for confirmation tone.
- Key in number to be stored (including "9" access code for outside calls) and listen for confirmation tone.
To Place an Abbreviated Dial Call:
- Select line. Lift handset.
- Press ABBREV DIAL button and reference number. Call is placed.
Feature Code If Button Not Assigned:
- " *7* and reference number" to set.
- " *7 and reference number" to access.
Index
Allows a station to answer any ringing extension within the assigned call pickup group.
To Pick Up Any Ringing Extension:
- Select line. Lift Handset.
- Press CALL PICKUP button.
- Ringing extension is retrieved.
Feature Code If Button Not Assigned: " #4 "
To Retrieve Held Call:
- Select line. Lift Handset.
- Press CALL PICKUP button and listen for confirmation tone.
- Key in number of extension where call is held - held call is retrieved.
Index
Allows a callback message to be left on a busy internal extension. When the called extension is free, the system automatically calls back.
To Leave a Callback - Busy Message:
- Press CALLBACK button and listen for confirmation tone.
- Hang up.
When The Called Extension Is No Longer Busy:
- Your station receives a priority ring (three rings) - CALLBACK button lamp will flash.
- Select line and lift handset - Call is placed.
- Note: If there is no answer at the called extension, the callback is canceled.

To Redial Last External Number Called:
- Select line. Lift handset.
- Press LAST #REDIAL button. Last outside call is placed.
- Note: Any number of internal calls may be placed or received without affecting Last Number Redial.

To Place an Intercom Call:
- Press INTERCOM button.
- Lift handset and listen for dial tone.
- Key in station's intercom number.
- Station's phone rings and intercom button flashes.
To Receive An Intercom Call:
- Press INTERCOM button.
- Lift handset. INTERCOM lamp is steady.
- Note: Intercom Calls cannot be transferred or placed on hold.
Index
Allows a station to dial a number using a single feature button.
To Store/Change An Automatic Dial Number:
- Do not lift handset.
- Press AUTODIAL button and lamp is steady.
- Key in number including "9" for access - AUTODIAL lamp goes out.
To Place An Automatic Dial Number:
- Select line. Lift handset.
- Press AUTODIAL button. Call is placed.
