Standard Telephone Equipment (STE)

ON-LINE USER'S GUIDE FOR ANALOG PHONES

*Please Note: Many of these features are only active on faculty and staff phones.


INTRODUCTION

This user's guide describes all the features and explains the operation of the STE (Standard Telephone) as used with the College telephone system.

TOUCH PAD

The touch pad digits are used to activate the system features, and the desired feature code digit must be preceded by the Asterisk (*) or the Pound Sign (#) as indicated.

SWITCH HOOK BUTTON

All feature codes must be initiated from Dial tone; if you are in conversation, the Switch hook button is used to obtain Dial tone. Pressing the Switch hook will result in the word "Enter" being repeated 3 times, followed by Dial tone. After hearing "Enter" once, the desired feature code can be entered.

3-WAY CONFERENCE

The 3-WAY CONFERENCE call can be used to introduce a transfer to both parties or to set up a conference call between three internal parties.

CONFERENCE CALL

Allows user to join up to 7 parties on 1 call. It is recommended that no more than a total of 4 parties be external. At least one system user must remain in the conference call at all times.

CALL FORWARDING - ALL CALLS

Allows you to send all your calls to another extension.

ABBREVIATED DIALING

This feature allows a personal directory of frequently called internal or external numbers. Assign each number a 1 digit reference code from (0—9) depending upon data base design.

CALL PICKUP

Allows any extension within an assigned CALL PICKUP GROUP to answer a ringing phone within the call pickup group.

CALLBACK - BUSY

Allows you to leave a CALLBACK Message. If you place an internal call and the extension you are calling is busy, the system will automatically call you back when the called extension is free.

LAST NUMBER REDIAL

The system automatically remembers the last external number dialed and allows that call to be easily replaced.
