How do I access my mailbox?

Who do I call if I am having a problem with my unified messaging mailbox?

Is there a way to bypass a greeting when calling someone?

Press # on your telephone keypad to bypass a voicemail greeting when calling someone at either CSB or SJU.

When I click on a voice mail message, the message automatically plays on my PC speakers.  Can I change this and have the calls directed to a phone?

Your messages can be directed to your telephone or another remote phone rather than your computer speakers.  This change is made on your voice mail media player.

When I click on a voice mail message, the message starts playing immediately.  Can I change this?

Yes.  If you do not want your message to play immediately when opening the e-mail, take the following steps:

(Even though start up options indicates you can change where your messages play, it cannot be set from this options page.)

What is the Communite folder in my outlook folder list used for?

The Communité folder gets you directly to a website that can be used for the visual administration of your mailbox.  This is your personal administration page.  You can change you password, create distribution lists, change the type of messages that are played (new, old, or both), you can also set your status and toggle the playing of that status on and off.  If you do not have this folder, you can also gain access to the site by going to http://communite/communite.

What if I cannot find the Communite folder within my outlook folders?

What if I forgot my mailbox password?

If you forget your unified messaging password, please call the Telecommunications Office at 5566 or 3482.  We cannot tell you what the password is, but we can change it.

How long do my voice mail messages remain in outlook?

Your voice mail messages are set to be removed from the system after 30 days.  If you want to keep your messages they can be archived. See Archiving E-Mail in Outlook for more information.

Will the CSB/SJU students use this same unified messaging system?

For 2005, the students will remain on the existing systems.  In 2006, however, they will be moved over to the Communité system.

The Communité Client software creates options within Outlook to help you customize your unified messaging mailbox.  It will create a folder that gives you a visualization of your mailbox. (You can also access this folder by going to http://communite/communite.)

After the client installation, (how will you know, will you need the client software before creating this folder?), if you do not have a Communité folder within your Outlook folder lists take following steps to create the folder:
