The goals of the YTM program are to:
- Stimulate and nurture excitement about theological learning among youth and adults.
- Create space for a new generation of Christians to consider how God is calling them.
- Foster the development of discipleship practices and leadership skills.
- Become a laboratory for Catholic youth ministry research.
The outcomes for the youth in YTM are that they will:
- Engage in theological study, reflection, and prayer.
- Learn service-leadership strategic planning skills.
- Use service-leadership skills to develop and implement a parish or school project.
- Learn about and consider vocational careers in theology and ministry.
- Grow in their understanding of social and biblical justice and in their empathy toward the poor and marginalized.
- Engage in theological reflection about leadership and service.
- Experience and lead a faith community of service and see themselves as agents of change.
- Learn to work collaboratively with community service agencies and with one another.
- Experience a faith community of learning while establishing a network of relationships.
