This section of the website is meant for the youth and adult participants of the Youth in Theology and Ministry program. The newsletter section will contain copies of our upcoming YTM newsletter. The Bulletin Board page contains a Prayer Line (for yourself or people you know who are in need of prayers), a News to Share section (to share your news to generate conversation on a topic), and an information update form. You will need a password to enter the Bulletin Board Section. If you are a past participant of the YTM program and want the user ID and password, then e-mail Jeff Kaster at jkaster@csbsju.edu, and he will send them to you.
Our hope is to survey all 113 youth who completed the two-summer YTM program between 2000 and 2004. Our intension from the start of the YTM program was to study its long-term influence on the lives of participants. Jeff Kaster’s doctoral dissertation at the University of Minnesota is researching the impact of the Youth in Theology and Ministry program on program participants. The purpose of this study is to learn about faith practices in the everyday life of Catholic young adults who chose to participate in intensive youth ministry experiences as high school youth. This study also seeks to better understand the meaning these young adults make regarding their faith, faith practices, vocations, and leadership. Specific questions guiding the research include:
1. What are the everyday life faith practices of young adults who participated in intensive youth ministry experiences in high school?
2. What meaning are the YTM participants making in their everyday life concerning vocation, theology, faith practices, and leadership?
Jeff Kaster, YTM Director, or one of our research assistants, Jeremy Ploof, Carrie Anderson, or Krista Senden will contact you. We hope to complete the telephone surveys by the end of February. The link below will allow you to view the survey.
