Br. Michael-Leonard Hahn, OSB, Chaplain
Brother Michael Leonard Hahn, OSB is a monk of Saint John's Abbey. He is a seminarian preparing for the priesthood. He also teaches Theology at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University.
Audrey Seah, Head Camp Leader
Audrey, a native of Singapore, has served in various youth, liturgical and music ministries since 2005. She holds a BA in Music Composition from Fresno State and an MA in Theology (Liturgy) from Saint John's School of Theology-Seminary. Audrey's quirky hobbies include collecting all things Toy Story and singing renaissance polyphony karaoke on YouTube. She is currently completing her Th.M degree at Saint John's and aspires to be the first theologian who has played on a professional yoyo team. This is her fourth year with NCYC.
Chase Becker, Camp Leader
Chase Becker is a Nebraska native and current editorial assistant for the liturgy blog Pray Tell. Chase holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Saint Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Nebraska and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Liturgical Studies from Saint John's School of Theology•Seminary in Collegeville, Minnesota. Chase currently serves as a Liturgical Designer and Consultant and has earned awards in historic preservation from Heritage Nebraska and Preservation North Dakota. Chase was a chorister in the National Catholic Youth Choir in 2002 and is now serving as a camp leader for the first time.
Chris Calderone, Camp Leader
Chris Calderone grew up in New York, and earned a bachelor's degree in Music Education at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. Upon graduating, he volunteered and worked as a parish music director and school music teacher in Camden, NJ for two years. In 2011, he enrolled at Saint John's School of Theology Seminary to pursue a Master of Arts in Liturgical Music. Between studies, Chris is also active in the aviation industry as a commercial pilot and flight instructor. Other interests include random musical instruments, photography, cooking and eating Italian food, travel, service and ministry, volunteer work, and enjoying the company of great friends. This is Chris's second year as camp leader with NCYC.
Patricia Ellis, Camp Leader
Patricia Ellis is currently a student at Saint John's School of Theology Seminary pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Liturgical Music. Patricia has worked as a music teacher at a Junior High School, spent many years in the banking industry then became a full time lecturer at the College of the Bahamas teaching English and Communications. She has impacted the lives of many young people and become a mentor to many.
Patricia started the Children's Choir at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in 1996. She is a member of several community choirs and has directed the College of the Bahamas Concert Choir, the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Choir and the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Senior Choir. She has attended several workshops under the tutelage of composers such as Moses Hogan, Dr. Uzee Brown and Dr. Roland Carter. As a member of the Choristers Guild and The National Pastoral Musicians, Patricia has attended many music seminars and training opportunities in various U.S. cities. In the summer of 2009 she attended a Choral Conducting Course at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey.
Patricia serves as a Lector and Music Minister at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Nassau, Bahamas. She is committed to the Church and is delighted to serve with "gladness and singleness of heart".
Patricia is married to Garnett Ellis and the couple has three daughters.
Katherine Florian, Accompanist & Camp Leader
Katherine is originally from Washington, Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. She is currently a student at Saint John's School of Theology Seminary pursuing a Masters of Arts in Liturgical Music. Katherine has been involved in music ministry for 14 years, working the last five years for a parish in Columbus, Ohio, as a full-time Music Director/Organist. Her hobbies include reading, traveling to visit friends and family, and shopping.
Jamie Reynolds, Camp Leader
Jamie is from Mansfield, Ohio and is currently a junior at the College of Saint Benedict pursuing a major in Choral Music Education. She is a member of the CSB/SJU Chamber Choir, the Opera Workshop, the campus TV network Project 8 and the campus radio station KJNB Radio. Jamie was a chorister in the National Catholic Youth Choir in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She is looking forward to participating as a camp leader and is extremely excited to meet this years choristers. Her interests and hobbies include singing, reading (mostly fantasy books and Manga), video games, dancing, volleyball, watching movies (especially animated ones), creative writing, spending time with friends, and meeting new people.
