Illuminating Ministry

The practice of ministry offers a rich, deep text of God's working among us. In these gatherings, a leading pastoral minister brings together a story from her or his ministry with an illuminated text from The Saint John's Bible. This launches a thoughtful conversation about what ministry teaches, drawing on the experience of participants. The aim is to advance the practice of ministry and cultivate hope as ministers encounter the complexities of pastoral leadership.

Change is never easy. Fr. Kevin Anderson found the merging of two communities to be difficult, delightful, and "delicious." The process brought out the worst and the best of parishioners who struggled to "find their place at the table." Today the parish is thriving and vibrant. Fr. Kevin will share the stories and lessons learned as tensions flared between traditionalists and those empowered by Vatican II.
