An innovative new program that prepares students for the ministry of spiritual direction is now offered by Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville, Minnesota in collaboration with Saint Benedict's Monastery.  This graduate certificate requires two years of part-time study and includes an internship under the guidance of trained supervisors at the Spirituality Center of the monastery.

Benedictine wisdom for living is integrated with the art and skills of modern spiritual direction.  Saint Benedict's teaching, "Listen with the ear of the heart," inspires the coursework which weaves together traditional Benedictine practices:  Hospitality, stability, continual conversion and reading life as sacred story.

For more information on the spiritual direction training program, contact Becky Van Ness, Director.

The experience of spiritual direction over time is valuable.  Spiritual direction is available at the Spirituality Center of Saint Benedict's Monastery.  For more information, contact S. Josue Behnen, OSB at jbehnen@csbsju.edu.
