What is it? 'Give SOT Day,' 11/16/16, is a one-day fundraising event aimed at mobilizing Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary (SOT) alumni, parents, and friends in support of the school. All gifts made to the Annual Fund on 'Give SOT Day' will secure additional funds from a matching pool. Any sized gift made on Nov. 11 will unlock the match! There is matching money for up to $50,000. We can only unlock this money, though, through gifts made on Nov. 16.
Why are we doing it on Nov. 16? Many are familiar with the great focus that comes on philanthropy during 'Give to the Max' day, taking place on Nov. 17 this year. While we value any opportunity for donors to support the non-profits they care about, we are shining our spotlight solely on 'Give SOT Day' on Nov. 16, and not on the 'Give to the Max' platform the next day. Here are our reasons:
Why it's important to the SOT and its goals: 100% of the students on campus this Fall are recipients of scholarship aid. A successful 'Give SOT Day' and Annual Fund year can really impact our efforts to keep the SOT experience accessible for students and our communities.
