1. Club president, Courteney Ellison, welcomed everyone to the first Social Work Club meeting of the year!
2. Introduction of everyone else in attendance and new officers
          New Officers include:  Susan Sass and Stephanie Lahr as Secretaries 
                                        & Stephanie Drellack as Treasurer
3. Talked about the Face of Hope Project
          Artist will be painting a piece in which can be signed for the cost of a dollar
          Proceeds will be donated on behalf of AIDS research
4. Project Ideas for this year
          The Club will be picking one or two main events or projects to sponsor and present this year
5. Cultural Plunge 
          Ideas include: Somali Community or Hmong community in St. Cloud. 
          Other options are available in The Cities. 
6. Talked about moving the social work club site information to the social work department site.
7. Activity ideas for the future were also discussed such as:
          a. 'Feed The Children'
          b. Soup kitchens
          c. Hat/mitten tree
          d. Partner with nursing homes
          e. Thanksgiving, Holiday food drive
          f. Leaf racking for the elderly, talking to Whitney Senior Center

The mission of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University Social Work Club is to provide opportunities for interested students to learn more about social justice through education and experience. It is also the club's goal to foster awareness and promote involvement in current issues related to the area of social work.
