Social Work Field Practicums

What is a Practicum?
  • A field experience that introduces social work students to the role of human service professional in the community setting.
  • Provides an opportunity to become familiar with careers in human service agencies.
  • An observational learning experience in a social service agency.
  • Helps expand understanding of how human needs are met by families and the social service agency.
  • Offers face to face contact with social workers as well as direct contact with the people served by the agency.
  • Students will gain insight, knowledge and skills.

The social work departments designed its program to offers two field practicum experiences within its required credits.

·         SWRK 349: Junior Practicum   

·         SWRK 397: Senior Practicum
