MIAC Night at the Chaska Ballpark
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The annual MIAC night is Wednesday, July 16, when the Chaska Cubs host the Austin Athletics at the Chaska Athletic Park at 7:30 p.m. Anyone wearing a shirt or hat from a MIAC college will get into the game free. Stiftungsfest hamburgers will be served at the game. The Chaska Athletic Park is located at 725 West 1st Street in Chaska. This is on the west side of Chaska, south of highway 212.

19 SJU Student-Athletes Named Academic All-MIAC
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Nineteen Saint John's University student-athletes earned 2007-08 Winter and Spring Academic All-MIAC honors June 27. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for Academic All-MIAC recognition. Athletically, student-athletes in basketball, hockey, baseball, softball and tennis must compete in 50% of their team’s varsity regular season contests. Swimming & diving and track & field student-athletes must qualify for the conference finals to be eligible. - Release

Two SJU Track and Field Student-Athletes Named Academic All-American
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John’s University senior Chris Erichsen (Spring Valley, Minn./Kingsland) and junior Eric Buss (Coon Rapids, Minn.) were named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Track and Field/Cross Country team Monday, June 23. Erichsen was named to the first team, while Buss was named to the second team. - Release | MIAC Release

SJU Finishes Seventh in Men's Athletics, 40th Overall
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - When counting only men's athletics, Saint John's finished seventh in the nation in the final 2007-08 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Directors' Cup standings. SJU led the MIAC for the second consecutive season and finished 40th overall when both men's and women's athletics were considered. - Final Standings | MIAC Release

SJU Names Court in Honor of Winningest Coach in Minnesota Collegiate History and Wife
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John’s University President Br. Dietrich Reinhart, OSB, announced today that the SJU basketball team will play on a refinished and redesigned court floor named in honor of its head coach and his wife, Jim and Adrienne Smith. The floor in Sexton Arena will be known as the Jim and Adrienne Smith Court. - Release | Photos

SJU Golf Wins Second Consecutive National Championship
BRASELTON, Ga. - Down by eight strokes entering the final round, Saint John’s University shot a 291 (+7) to win its second consecutive  NCAA Division III Men’s Golf National Championship at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga.  - Release

Doug Schueller Named Head Hockey Coach
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John’s University named Doug Schueller its head hockey coach May 16. Schueller (SHU-ler) becomes the 22nd head coach in the 76-year history of Johnnie hockey and replaces John Harrington, who resigned in March following 15 seasons at SJU. Schueller recently served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Bowling Green State University the past two seasons and was responsible for the Falcons’ defense and recruiting efforts. - Release
