3/13/2007 - PR Representative David Norine explained that the SJS's recent "from a JOHNNIE" campaign was an effort to create a stir on campus among CSB/SJU students. According to Norine, the campaign was a huge success, and could not have been achieved without the help of all senators.
The campaign maintained the secret identity of JOHNNIE, who was responsible for delivering free prizes and gifts to students in classes, mailboxes, and on the weekends. JOHNNIE's identity was revealed as the SJS at a free concert on Mar. 13 in Br. Willie's Pub.
JOHNNIE's activities included:
MON 3/5 – provided hot chocolate at Sexton Commons
TUES 3/6 – gave out breakfast bars in 8:00 am classes at SJU
WED 3/7 – gave away gift cards to Chipotle, Target, BestBuy, Gary’s Pizza
THU 3/8 – delivered candy to campus mailboxes
FRI 3/9 – gave away free haircuts at the HairRazor, and a treat at BWP
SAT 3/10 – shared free Gary’s Pizzas on Minnesota Street
SUN 3/11 – provided cookies and juice in the Great Hall after Mass
MON 3/12 – gave out more gift cards and treats
TUE 3/13 – brought Tim Mahoney to campus for a free concert, $2000 in prizes
The SJS congratulated all Johnnies for their goodwill and fellowship towards others. The JOHNNIE campaign's success signifies a willingness to work hard for a common good, shared by the SJS and all Johnnies.
