The Saint John’s Plumbing Shop is manned with one master plumber (Ralph Peterson), one journeyman plumber (Russ Kilanowski ), and one apprentice plumber (Brian Schreiner). They occasionally have the part-time assistance of a student employee from the Saint Cloud Vocational-Technical College – depending on availability.
In a nutshell, the Plumbing Shop is responsible for all piped utilities that leave the Power Plant, and the fixtures and devices that distribute and control them. They maintain hundreds of miles of piping, thousands of valves, scores of steam and drain traps, all faucets, sinks, shower heads and shower controls, floor drains, along with sanitary and storm sewers, and irrigation systems.
Our master plumber is energetic and productive. He knows the plumbing code, has years of experience in new construction and maintenance, and can supervise the work of others. He can do most jobs if given the time, the manpower, and the equipment.
We have good (though not perfect) documentation of existing systems, which facilitates the quick location of problematic lines, valves, shutoffs, etc.
