Quadrangle Refectory

Currently Underway (07/08/09): Ductwork in kitchen is being installed. Bathroom renovations continue. Work in the catering room will be complete next week. Pavers have been reinstalled at the north entrance, and the construction fencing will be moved to allow pedestrian traffic past Benet Hall. View photos of construction progress.

Construction Details

Exterior site work will begin on May 11, 2009, along with interior construction on the main dining area. Work on the mechanical building near Wimmer Hall will continue until completion.

• Temporary dining facilities will be set up in Guild Hall for the remainder of the summer.
• There will be equipment and a generator running in the main staging area throughout much of the summer. If your office is located on Quad first floor above the refectory or near the main staging area, you will likely be affected by noise at some point during construction. If for any reason you feel you will not be able to tolerate the noise, please begin to make other arrangements at this time.
• The north entrance to the Quadrangle will not be accessible during parts of construction and the north elevator will be inaccessible to/from the ground floor at times.There 
• Due to the excessive amount of work and the short time frame, we anticipate that the Contractor will be working extended or multiple shifts throughout this phase of construction. Therefore, there may be construction noise into the evening hours as well.  
• The Quad west courtyard and Wimmer parking area will continue to serve as construction staging areas throughout the summer.
• There will be construction traffic past the Fire Hall/Guild Hall throughout the summer. There will also be construction traffic through the south campus entrance until the mechanical building is complete in mid-June.

• Breitbach Construction has a planned completion date of August 25, 2009.
