Wiffleball

Intramural Wiffleball Rules

1) Minimum of 6 players in field - maximum of 9

 

2) Games will be played with the same number of field players whenever possible.  If team A has 10 players and team B has 8 players - then each side will play 8 players in the field, but team A will bat all 10 players.

3) Fielders may be deployed any way you wish.

4) Pitchers should throw overhand - but no fastballs.

5) Ball may be thrown at runner to get him/her out - throw must be below the head. If a player is hit in the head, play will continue.

6) If ball hits ceiling, even in foul territory, then batter is out.

7) Strikeouts are same as baseball rules - foul balls are strikes except on third strike.

8) Games will be 6 innings long or 45 minutes – whatever comes first. When the game reaches the 40 minute mark, we will finish up that inning and that will be the end of the game.

9) Games on field B can be played with a tennis ball or wiffleball. The choice is up to the captains.

10) If a fly ball hits the curtain in the outfield while in flight, it is a home run.
