At SJU Dining Service, we feel that all work is of value and is to be respected.  Each position offers its own opportunities for the development of transferable skills.  We provide a valuable service of providing food and hospitality for the community and our guests.

What Jobs Will I be Doing?

Refectory Jobs Include:

• Serving Customers - Serving food and desserts, keeping salad bar and milk areas neat, clean, and filled with food.
• Student Cooks - Assisting cooks, bakers, and salad departments with preparation and clean-up of meals.
• Custodial - Keeping the Refectory clean.
• Dishroom - Providing clean and sanitary dishes and pots and pans.
• Cashier -  Is responsible for all customers entrying into the Refectory, i.e. collect cash, punch cards, etc.

Sexton Jobs Include:

• Front Line Service - Preparing fast foods for customers, i. e .burgers, fries, pizzas, subs, etc.
• Dishroom and Custodial - Cleaning dishes and keeping Sexton Dining clean.
• Stocking - Keeping coolers and shelves full of products.

Actual work assignments will depend on your class schedule, your other activities, and the job openings that are available.
