Welcome to the website for the Saint John's University Archives

The Saint John's University Archives was established in 1975 to collect, house, and make available the historical records that document the origin, development and achievements of the University, its faculty, staff, and alumni. The archivist is available to work with departments to interpret the records retention schedule, develop individual departmental schedules, and to provide guidance in preparing the materials for shipping to the University Archives.

The Archives primary collections include: The Alumni Office, Dean of the College, Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research, Library Director, Office of Institutional Advancement, Office of Public Relations, Office of the Assistant to the President, Office of the President, The School of Theology, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice President for Student Affairs. The Archives also maintains numerous subject collections, as well as minutes and reports of the Faculty Assembly and the Board of Regents, university and student publications, photographs and other memorabilia.

In order to continue developing collections like these the Archives seeks documents of historical significance, including correspondence, minutes of meetings, publications and memorabilia, pertaining to the founding of the University, faculty accomplishments, student activities, and significant events.
