Tunnel System

What are all the tunnels underneath St. John's used for? A worker told me that they gave tours a couple years ago of the tunnels, is this true?

The tunnel system (dating from 1907) at St. John’s is used for the utility system (heat, water, etc.). For additional information you could ask either Br. Linus Ascheman or Br. Walter Kieffer who oversaw the tunnel reconstruction project in 1989.
