Benedictine Legacy Society

The Benedictine Legacy Society recognizes those who have included Saint John's University or Abbey in their estate plans. Currently numbering over 400 members, you are invited to leave your legacy at SJU by informing us in writing, and with signature, that Saint John's has been included in your estate plans.

Additional documentation of the planned gift is handled on a case by case basis. Examples may include a copy of the specific provision in one's will or trust, a copy of the beneficiary page of an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or life insurance policy, etc.

Member Benefits Include:

  • A special invitation to Saint John's Day, our annual leadership donor recognition event.
  • An attractive Saint John's Estate Planning Binder for keeping copies of all documents together for ease of access for family members.
  • Listing among the Benedictine Legacy Society members in the annual Honor Roll of Donors.
  • Communications including information about Saint John's and the latest legislation affecting estate tax planning.
